Seems like this is the official party line

@fkamiah17 They don't like checking data, do they?
@fkamiah17 No available jobs is NO JOBS, no matter how much #LINO think people should be working. And there are certain conditions which mean people literally cannot work, and/or that no company is prepared to take the risk [and insurance costs] of employing them.
@HarriettMB Trust me, I know this. While my epilepsy remains "uncontrolled" by medication, I'm legally obliged to disclose it to prospective employers (not doing so should I have a seizure at work is grounds for dismissal) and I can't even count the number of interviews I went to where the atmosphere changed as soon as I mentioned it, even at jobs that I was massively overqualified for.
@fkamiah17 You, and the report in the media a few days ago by the employee who was told that more than three seizures a month was unacceptable are exactly who I thought of first. Then there’s people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility who won’t be employed in places with steps, high rises etc. and that’s before any one of the myriad other disabilities are even considered: as for anyone with mental health issues…..
@HarriettMB I saw that. How utterly ridiculous
This whole regression to the idea that mental health is something that can be "solved" by just "pulling yourself together" is horrific. Invisible illnesses and disabilities were already marginalised and now we're back at the stage of labelling them as malingering or, worse, insinuating they "don't really exist".
@fkamiah17
Could Labour parties stop being Thatcherites already, please?
What doesn't he know about in-work benefits?
@linuxgnome @Gurre All he knows is a spreadsheet.
@Gurre They're much worse than Thatcherites. There was actually something for Thatcher to sell off. They're a team of turbo Rees-Moggs with the financial and political acumen removed.
@fkamiah17 So, they almost said "work will set you free"? Thanks a lot, I'm sure all the support will be there getting into and staying in work and that there's both people willing to employ them and jobs available to them. Not like many are living in precarious situations even while fully employed or anything while all their value is being stolen by the pigs making 10x as much for 0.1x the work.
@nini It's not the first time they've pretty much said that using slightly different words.
@fkamiah17 Not the first time I've mentioned that parallel as you know.
@nini Nor me, as you know. And it won't be the last. Probably not even the last time this week.
