@Wen That's fucking atrocious. Using a situation where women (and occasionally men) are victimised and terrorised in their own homes to take the piss out of the most powerful man in the country's spineless foreign trade policy *which he is ENTIRELY ABLE TO CHANGE OF HIS OWN VOLITION* is vomit inducing. I hope it gets complaints.
@fkamiah17 I have been in there loudly proclaiming my outrage and threatening to cancel my (long cancelled) subscription. I hope you can do the same thing
@Wen I really don't know what you think is funny in this conversation.
@fkamiah17 I thionk our understanding of the cartoon is completely different. I see him staggering to the door, battered with a supine but content Trump in the background proclaiming his delusions. Not making fun of anyone else.
@Wen @fkamiah17 Good political cartoons will often sail close to the edge of good taste and should (ideally) be robustly offensive to their political target, which this almost certainly is. From that point of view, I can go with it.
However, even though my own sense of humour can run to the dark/offensive side, I think the obvious domestic violence context here isn’t a good choice and could easily be misread (or misused) as a veiled comment on DV victims in general. Not good.
