The only future trade deal that can lessen the impact of US tariffs is a trade deal with the EU to reduce the leverage of US tariffs on our economy.
Bending the knee to US fascism to beg for an exception to the tariffs doesn't reduce their impact, it just changes it from an economic impact on exporters to a political impact on our democracy, which is deeper, longer lasting, and more poisonous.
